Addressing the 5G Device Test Challenges Posed by Release 16 and 17

3GPP Release 16 (finalized in 2020) and Release 17 (completed in mid-2022) build on the 5G foundations laid by the Release 15 standards and add new features to enhance the mobile broadband experience and to enable the expansion of 5G into new markets and verticals. Many of these new features are technically-challenging, placing increased demands on both 5G devices and the network emulation platforms and solutions used to develop, test and validate them. Keysight has been collaborating with the market pioneers on R16 for the last 2 years, enabling them to develop and verify their new R16 products, and is now commencing R17 testing. In this session we’ll explore how Keysight’s 5G network emulation solutions, based on the industry-leading UXM 5G Wireless Test Platform, address the challenges and help accelerate the market launch of new 5G R16/R17 products.
