How can you ensure that your battery-operated devices run as long as expected? Is it enough to rely on specifications from battery suppliers, or should you do a rough estimation and then send your devices under development to a lab to validate battery performance?

Not accurately anticipating battery life or run-time can create deep customer dissatisfaction as well as legal liabilities, especially if the devices involve life-saving or life-preserving tasks such as defibrillators or pacemakers.

Earlier this year, Keysight launched the basic battery emulator that enables users to not only emulate but also create profiles and perform cycle tests on batteries – all in a compact unit and using powerful software.
