The audience will be split into 5 groups with 5 rotations so each will get their hands-on experience on all 5 modules.
Module 1: Measure 5G NR Downlink 2x2 MIMO
This lab configures and analyzes a downlink (DL) 2x2 MIMO signal. The goal is to generate a MIMO signal in the FR2 band. Key steps involve setting the frequency, amplitude, and configuring various parameters. The final step is generating the waveform and analyzing the spectrum.
Module 2: Measure Noise Figure on an Active Device
In this hands-on lab, participants will learn how to measure noise figure using the E5081A ENA-X network analyzer. The lab will guide them through the process of configuring scalar and vector noise figure measurements, performing noise calibration, and analyzing the results. By the end of the lab, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of noise figure measurement techniques and best practices.
Module 3: Experience the Power of Record and Playback
In this hands-on-lab, participants will learn how wideband sections of the RF spectrum can be recorded and then replayed. This could be a few MHz to several 1 GHz of bandwidth on one or multiple channels, each potentially at different center frequencies. The lab will cover a range of different use scenarios and cover the importance of quality particularly if the signals recorded are to be analysed and/or the playback is to accurately replicate captured off-air signals.
Module 4: Emulate Propagation Channel with PROPSIM Channel Emulator
In this hands-on lab, participants will learn how to generate variants of propagation channel conditions including terrestrial fading channel models, satellite channel models such as 5G non-terrestrial networks. The lab will guide them through the process of configuring the channel emulator, measuring and virtualizing the channel condition with analyser.
Module 5: Master OTA Measurements
In these hands-on labs, participants will learn how to measure peak power, perform channel scanning and over-the-air (OTA) measurements with an electromagnetic field (EMF) antenna, and conduct 5G NR OTA measurements. They will gain practical experience in setting up hardware, configuring measurement equipment, and analyzing results for various RF signals. The labs also cover advanced topics such as pulse power measurement techniques, channel power measurements, and EMF assessments for LTE and 5G networks.
